First Bennie Lenox left us behind in 2016 and then his brother, Dwayne "Curley" Lenox passed a short while ago in February of 2018. Now their nephew, Jimmie Dale Lenox, has passed away at the age of 72. He died at his home in Willis on Sunday, January 13, 2019. His funeral service will in The Chapel at the Conroe Funeral Directors funeral home in Conroe on Thursday, January 17. The address is 1504 N.Thompson Street. Some things about Jimmie Dale that is not included in the obit that might interest you since he was another of the Lenox family to play a key role in the basket program at Clear Creek High School, joining brothers Bennie and Curley as an all-state basketball player. He was a member of that great 1963 Wildcat team that won the state championship. After graduation from CCHS, Jimmie Dale attended Texas A&M where he played basketball during his freshman year and later attended the University of Texas.
We will miss Jimmie Dale and will remember always his great contributions to the Wildcat basketball program.

Funeral Service for Jimmie Dale Lenox of Willis, Texas will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in The Chapel at the Conroe Funeral Directors Funeral Home with Pastor John Gaston officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Mr. Lenox was born on July 22, 1946 in Texas City, Texas, to James Lenox and Inez (Collins) Lenox and passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at his home in Willis. Jimmie was 72 years old.
Jimmie grew up in League City, graduating from Clear Creek High School where he excelled in athletics.
After a longtime career in construction, Jimmie retired as Superintendent at Gamma Construction Company.
He is survived by his dear family: Loving wife of 25 years, Shirley Lenox; brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Lois Lenox; and his two sisters, Nita Hart and Rita Townsend. Jimmie is also survived by nieces, nephews and other caring relatives and friends.
Jimmie Dale played very well in the state tournament. Uncle Curley was he star of the 1963 championship team but, as a junior, Jimmie Dale scored 28 points in the 65-57 win over Seminole for the title. As a senior, Jimmie Dale averaged 19 points for the year as the team reached the state tournament again. He scored 30 points in a 69-60 win over Kilgore in the first game and 21 in the 60-50 loss to Graham in the finals.
