On the weekend of April 24-26, the Class of 1959 of Clear Creek High School celebrated its 50th reunion with a variety of events down in the Clear Creek area. 42 different grads from that class along with spouses and friends had a great time renewing acquaintances, making new friends, sharing memories, swapping tall tales, enjoying great food, and generally having a grand old time.
Among those in attendance were the Wildcat basketball tri-captains and I thought you might enjoy seeing a recent picture of these guys (which included yours truly) and compare it to one from the '59 yearbook. Time does fly by and it is important to keep relationships going and it was great for me to see these guys once again along with a lot of other good friends on that weekend.
The 1959 version looked like this:
Here is the current version (left to right - Hugh Taylor, Charles Milligan, Edward Davis):
In the first picture, Ed looks like a seventh grader. In the current one, he looks like Old Man River--or the river's grandfather. Seriously, this is a great picture and thanks for sharing.
To me, these three guys rank high in the annals of Clear Ceek athletics. Too bad they can't roll back the clock. Today's Wildcats need help.

Yeah, it is a pain to grow old - literally as much as figuratively these days. But I cannot tell you how meaningful it was to sit and talk with these two guys again. I had seen Hugh a lot lately since we were on the reunion planning committee together but I had not seen Charlie for a long, long time. Lots of great memories there. If you guys have not gotten back to a reunion with your old friends or classmates (or heck, even your families) you need to do so.
At the reunion dinner, Charlie said what I think was the key thought at the whole affair. He said something like this: As we get older we realize more and more that it is not the material things that matter most in life, but the relationships we have formed and continue to keep.
Great words of wisdom for us all. Thanks, Charlie.
