I want to publicly thank Dan Jensen for the work he did on obtaining, compiling, and mailing out the pages of memories from former Wildcat basketball players and other friends of the Wildcats. It was a special thing to do and getting it all in one place to read and enjoy was just tremendous - or as Dan would say, "It was loverly!" I know that Coach will be touched by this project and that he will remember each and every moment and feeling described. What a fitting tribute to such a great man.
It is incredible to read the common thread that went through all the sheets of memories - that of Coach being such a great influence on the lives of us all, then and even now. He was more than a coach. He was a friend, a teacher, a mentor, a role model, a father figure, and a man of vision. I know that all of us are much, much better off for having known him, played for him, and being taught so much by him.
We love you, Coach. Thanks Dan for giving us the means to express that love and admiration.
Actually, I would say, "plumb loverly." That's a phrase I use all the time on a Baylor site that I frequent and that Sir Edward says he does but I never see his tracks there.
Describe it how you choose, but working on The Carlisle Project has been a joy and I know others will experience the same thing as they read--and recall those plumb loverly days of yore of Carlisle's Creek.
